Box Tops for Education:
Clip the Box Tops from participating General Mills products and write your child’s name and teacher on the back. Send them to school with your child to place in the “Box Tops” box during library time. Each month Mrs. Wallingford draws two Box Tops out of the box, and both of those students win a free book from our Book Fair. All of the Box Tops are mailed to General Mills, who send us 10¢ per Box Top, which is used to purchase books for our library. Click here for more info about Box Tops for Education.
Craig-O's Pizza Night:
Sicilian chicken with roasted garlic, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, red onions, fresh cilantro, mushrooms, roasted green peppers, fresh tomatoes, black olives, fresh basil . . . What do all these fabulous sounding items have in common? They are ingredients for Craig O’s pizzas! And you can enjoy these delectables and raise money for Barton Hills PTA all at the same time. Whether you eat–in, carry–out, or get home delivery (free to Barton Hills neighborhood!), Craig O’s will donate 10% of its sales to our PTA one Thursday each month (PTA calendar). Craig O’s is located at Highway 290 and Mopac, between Sam’s Club and Best Buy. Check out their menu and give them a call at 891-7200.
Electronics Recycling:
Donate your unwanted consumer electronics (working and non-functioning equipment) and BHE will receive money for each of the items we collect, which is used to fund printing of the annual Eagle Expressions student anthology. We’ll take cell phones, ink jet printer cartridges, DVD movies & videogames, portable DVD players, laptop computers, X-Boxes, Sony Playstations, digital cameras, digital video cameras, Wii, digital picture frames, MP3 players, and portable navigation & GPS devices (Garmin, Magellan, Tom-Tom). Place your unwanted consumer electronics in the box in the triangle by the school office. For more information on this recycling program, go to www.ecophones.com or look for posters at school.
Grocery Cards:
The Barton Hills Elementary PTA’s grocery card program is our most pain-free fundraiser. If you shop for groceries, you can raise money for our school. It is convenient, easy, and at no cost to you!
How does it work? Our PTA purchases gift cards from HEB and Randalls and sells them at cost to parents, teachers and neighbors. The grocery stores then make a contribution to our school, typically 3–4% of the card value, so it doesn’t cost you a thing!
Here’s how to get started:
- Click here to download an enrollment form, or get one in the school office.
- Choose card denominations of $50 and/or $100 from HEB/Central Market and/or Randalls—as many cards as you like.
- Choose to Auto Draft from your bank account. The draft is made on the 1st of the month, which is the same day you get your card(s)!
Or, you may write a check each month. It is due on the 20th and deposited sometime between the 20th and the 1st.
- Bring your completed enrollment form to the front office.
- Pick up your cards before or after school on the 1st of the month from Tonya Cook at the triangle next to the office.
- You can cancel or change your purchase at any time during the year by contacting Tom
Campbell.
Please enroll in the grocery card program. Last year this program raised $4,300 for our school—money that directly impacts each student. Raising money for Barton Hills is as easy as doing your weekly grocery shopping…all at no cost to you!
Thank you for supporting Barton Hills Elementary School!
